I went today, and my doc said there was a lump, but it did not feel like anything I should worry about, says its possible it formed due to high caffiene consumption( I drink coffee every day). However, she wants me to go and get an ultrasound done? I am so scared about this, but I feel like I should not be? How do I get through the next 4 days without being an emotional time bomb? I have my appointment Friday for the ultrasound, and then I would expect there is still waiting for the results...anyone every have a similar situation where the lump turned out to be nothing to worry about?

Happened to me! They said the same thing about mine, so I went for the ultrasound. THey said it looked normal except for the shape...it was shaped like an arrowhead which is guess is not good. They were pretty sure I could have left it there and it would not turn into cancer or anything, but I went ahead and had it removed anyways. Since I opted to have it removed, they didn't biopsy it until after they took it out...and it was fine. But they say that sometimes if you leave them there, they can eventually turn into cancer. I think the chances of this are very rare, but I wasn't taking any chances so had it removed... I wouldn't worry too much, but I know how it feels and I was freaking out too. But in all actuality, just be glad you found it and are doing something about it!!!!

That happened to me, But the lump was on my cervix so they were able to do the biopsy the same day. The waiting a week was the hard part but at the end it was nothing. Just a cyst.

No I haven't had one...well a pea sized one that is there forever but benign...and what a relief that was...

If you doctor didn't think you should be concerned, they don't lie about that...they hedge a lot when they're not sure...

So take comfort from that and realize that breast cancer today is NOT a death sentence.

and we all hold you in our hearts...someday this scourge will be conquered so no one has to live with it.

Best wishes!!!
