1) Germany attempted to get Mexico to attack the US.
2) Public outrage at the massacre's of civilian men, women and children in Denmark and Netherlands under the claim that they were guerrilla fighters.
3) The resumption of unrestricted U Boat warfare against all ships approaching UK shores irregardless of their nationality and number of passengers.

The "Official" reason we entered into World War I is because of the Zimmerman Telegram...this telegram was supposedly from the German government to the government of Mexico...it supposedly said that if Mexico invaded the US, Germany would support them and after the war they could give Mexico back all the land the US took from them...there were really no reasons for the US to enter WWI...we were at the time an Isolationist Government, which means most Americans felt we should only worry about what was going on in our own hemisphere...that may not be the way your teacher wanted the question answered but this is the belief of most Historians....

ya we no longer need to onder that question as it happend 90 years ago, and it had a sequal.
the bigger question is how to prevent it from becoming a trilogy. i fear we are seeing the trailers and teaser to ww3. coming to a theater near you (i.e. theater, where the battles take place) many battles are taking place right now in america, with no shots being fired but they are still shaping our nation and determinning how we will be prepared for this, and the battles we can see are happining every day in th middle east with radical dick heads vieing for control (ie iran)
