probably. I know you can get it in there without them knowing, but as far as them letting you have it in the "delivery room" they may not allow it. Mabey when you are in the other room though. ask. I bet they will allow it.

Check with your doctor, but some hospitals DO allow a bottle of champagne. The birth of a baby is something to celebrate. The hospital where my son was born allowed it. Even if you ARE breastfeeding having a sip or two of champagne AFTER the baby is born will NOT hurt anything. Geeze. Some people are such zealots. It's not like the baby would get drunk or sick if mom had one drink!!

Call and ask, If your mom would really like to do this if they say no then just wait till the nurse exits the room and have a toast. If someone should come in the room apologies and say you were not aware that you could not toast the birth.
If you do not want to do that bring a bottle of sparkling water or grape juice. They come in bottles that look like champagne bottles.
Whoever thought they would be dealing with drunks must be crazy.
Good luck and congrats!=))

A friend brought my husband champagne to the hospital after our son was born, I don't think the nurses even knew it was there. But if you want to be safe I agree ask someone in one of your classes at the hospital when you are preparing for the birth or call the front desk. Good luck with your new addition.

Some do. There are still hospitals that serve a glass of wine with mommies first "real"meal. It is supposed to be a nice quiet time for mommy and daddy before they go home.
If you had a sip, it wouldn't hurt. But, right after the baby is born, you will be too tired to have any and won't appreciate it. Maybe ask your mom to wait until after you have rested or until baby comes home.
Good Luck!

Some hospitals used to provide a celebratory dinner for the new mom and dad with Champagne, but if you are going to breast feed, they will frown on you partaking.
I brought a co-worker a bottle in a gift basket to celebrate the birth of her daughter. I don't think it is illegal.
It wouldn't hurt to ask the hospital it's policy on this.

Ignore ignorant people. None the less would you feel left out? I would suggest in case they say no to bring sparkling grape juice. That way you can participate and it's not a problem for the hospital. I don't know if you know what it is but after I delivered (vaginally) I was brought Whataburger which I ate in the same room. She was being cleaned up anyways.

maybe you could suggest in a very sweet way , that since the hospital doesn't allow alcohol, she could do matinelli's. It's still yummy, and if your family really isn't into drinking, it will be the same!

It relies upon on the well being facility. the placement I introduced had a demonstration up asserting "no toddlers under 12 different than siblings of the toddler". yet interior the mum-toddler unit, 2 of my 3 nieces, age 4 & 2 on the time, have been allowed to come back visit me and the toddler. 5 weeks later, I took my son to flow to a chum who had purely had her toddler at a diverse well being facility and had no subject bringing my 5 week previous into the room. it fairly relies upon on the well being facility's coverage and how strongly they enforce it.

I dont think the hospital would allow alcohol in the room! The doctors are going to be soo busy doing their thing that your mom would just be in the way trying to open it etc...

i have heard nurses joke about a bottle of champagne, but last i checked it was illegal to have an open container of alcohol in a business facility without a license.
So what you are really looking at....is what nurse will rat you out.
Get a bottle on sparkling cider. or leave the alcoholic grandmother at home.
