Well it is normal to feel a little discouraged that the response wasn't what you were looking for or expecting. It really depends on the type of person you are. Course you must be the sensitive type because you wouldn't have wrote this quest! No, you are not obligated to do more, but it's our instinct to polish our apology with a little something extra, so that it shows how sincerely sorry we are. We also have the type that are pretty well cold people, who are probably busy and a little selfish.Meaning they probably think that they are so good, that an apology from them is you would be lucky to get one from them in the first place.Word of thumb, when it comes to the work place apology,.make it short and sweet and move on.

Although you are not required to make more than one attempt at an apology, sometimes it is in your best interest to try again after allowing some time to pass. That way the other person has had a chance to "get over" the anger and by then may be more willing to forgive, although that is not always the case

It all depends on what you did that deserved an apology to be given. For example, if my husband left the toilet seat up and he apologized, yeah sure, an apology is enough for me. If he cheated on me - he better not only apologize, but grovel till he can't grovel anymore. And even then I don't know if I would forgive! It all depends what you did wrong.

Absolutely not! If your apology was sincere, you've done your part. It is now in the hands of the other person. They need to find it in themselves to be able to forgive.

Nope. Just like everything else, give it time. Move on. The other party will either come around or turn the page. There is nothing else you can do. Grovelling is not healthy...
