There a lot of good restaurants around Pasadena, but here are some of my favorites:
Two Italian restaurants I like are "Gale's", on Fair Oaks, between California & Del Mar. Great tasting food and excellent service,
and "Mi Piace", in Old Pasadena, on Colorado, between Fair Oaks and Raymond.
I recently tried a Japanese BBQ restaurant in Old Pasadena called "Gyu-Kaku". It's on Green, just west of Delacey. You cook the food at your table. The service is great.

For Middle Eastern food, I like "Pita Pita", on Colorado, between Mentor and Lake, and "Mediterranean Cafe", off of S. Lake. The food is inexpensive and the service is the fastest I have ever seen. The entrance faces the parking lot between Lake and Mentor, just North of Del Mar. I think the official street address is Shoppers Lane.
"Radhika's" is a really good Indian restaurant (also on Shoppers Lane), between Lake Ave & Mentor, just North of Cordova.
"Mezbaan" is another Indian restaurant I really like. It is on Fair Oaks in Old Pasadena, north Of Union. I think they offer a buffet only on the weekends.
Also, there is the "Tibet Nepal House" in Old Pasadena, on Holly, between Fair Oaks and Raymond. They offer a good weekday lunch buffet. www.tibetnepalhouse.com
For a good cheap burger try "Rick's" on Walnut & El Molino. Also try the spuderito, which consists of lettuce, cheese, hot sauce and a few French fries wrapped in a tortilla. It is amazing!
For Chinese, I like "PF Changs" at the Paseo Colorado.

I went to this restaurant couple days ago. It is is Japanese BBQ Dining. The name is Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ Dining. This restaurant is located on West Green Street. In Old Town Pasadena. The food is excellent. If ordering, must get the "Butter Fish". That is the best in this restaurant. Do forget to get the desserts. They are very very good.

I usually don't like chain restaurants, but I went to the Melting Pot recently and LOVED it. They serve all different types of fondue. We went with a special called the tournament of roses, or something like that. It included a cheese fondue appetizer, the main entree and a dessert fondue. You will definitely need a reservation and a big wad of cash...it's a bit pricey, especially with drinkeys. That's my current fave in Pasadena.

There's a new restaurant, just opened, called Vi Ve, or something, for Mexican food.
And there's Yang Chow who's known for their Slippery shrimp. They have one in Downtown LA too; it's always packed.
