Hello, Im moving from Miami, FL to Spring, Tx. Bought a house in a new community called Country Lake Estates, located off Louetta and Kuykendahl.

How is this area? I wasnt impressed when I first got there because of all the commercial areas mixed in with residential,. but I got a killer deal on a new house that was 3800 Sq Ft.

How is this area to raise a family? I hear Klein is great, but how are the surrounding areas? If i go to the local grocery store will I feel safe? My wife stays home while I travel for work sometimes and want to feel that she is safe. My community is not gated, so is that bad? Home invasions? Just want to feel comfortable in the area.

It is an ok area.....but there are better. You definatly are not in the "ghetto" or the "barrio", and there is not a lot of crime that makes the local news from that area. Minus the airport, it is rather quiet. My dad used to live up in the area for a while and he never had any problems....just stay away from Greenspoint (a.k.a Gunspoint) Mall!

Safe and pleasant, good schools. Low crime and lots of new development. Not a prestigious area per se, but definitely a nice suburban environment. It's a long commute though to downtown or the galleria area, so keep in mind that you'll need at least an hour if you work in those areas.

As the previous poster pointed out, stay away from Gunspoint (at I-45 and the toll road). Try instead the Woodlands mall at I-45 and Woodlands Parkway. Many good restaurants between Spring and The Woodlands, some of them right on I-45 service drive.

Hi!
I just moved from Plantation, Florida to Spring, Tx! Ive seen the neighborhoods where you bought your home and the area seems safe. Like the others have said if you want to do your shopping go to the Woodlands mall. Dont go to Greenspoint mall. One thing you are going to like about Tx is that people are really friendly compared to Florida.
Welcome to Houston!
