Look at the B-School rankings at the web sites for US News and for BusinessWeek.
Any of the top 15 schools will be a great place to go. They all have excellent career placement offers and you would probably get a six figure salary after graduation.
The next 15 schools will be pretty good and give you a nice salary bump -- but not like the top schools.
The next 15 schools might be worth it. You'll get a decent education and could get a decent job out of it.
Once you get past those schools, there is very little value added in getting an MBA.
When you look at the starting salaries, you have to be a little careful. For example, it might look like an MBA from Columbia will get you an extra $15K over a school like Duke. But these differences are due to where people choose to live. The Duke graduates who move to NYC do as well as the Columbia graduates who stay in NYC. But a larger percentage of Duke graduates move to places where the cost of living is lower, and salaries are a little lower. So -- a slightly higher average starting salary does not necessarily mean it is a better school.
When I graduated from Duke's Fuqua School, the average student had three job offers.

It really depends on where you live, and what type of business you are looking to do. Obviously, the Ivy league schools are best for business (Penn, Harvard, etc). You are better off finding a good school you are comfortable with, and spending more of your time looking for good internships, and networking with the right people. That way, when you graduate, you will be better set to find a job with a good salary.
Schools don't typicallly "place" students -- they merely set up career fairs, and offer opportunity for networking, but there is no guarantee for job placement. You are better at a mid-level school and doing all of the above, than a higher ranked school and not doing an internship, etc.
Good luck.
