were they origianlly supposed to air on CBC or something like that? I know naturally sadie and life with derrek are both canadian shows(if you watch the end credits it shows this). I am just wondering.

Cost- cheaper in cities like Toronto than NY of LA and the exchange rate makes it even more so.

Supposedly it costs less to film there rather then in the US, and I have also heard (not sure how much true it is) that many companies choose to film in Canada because it's cleaner there--less graffitti (sp?) and litter, therefore less time they have to spend cleaning the area to prepare for a shoot, which ties back into saving money

A lot of American programs and movies are filmed in Canada because it supposedly costs less.

i just think its cheaper to produce shows over here in Canada , and lots of the scenery can pass for American cities or whatever kind of background is needed
