I waited until I was 13 weeks, although it is a personal choice. I wanted to wait until I was out of the most dangerous time, because I had experienced multiple miscarriages and the hardest thing was hearing, "so, how's the pregnancy coming along." I think it was harder for the asker than me.

By "family" perhaps you mean children. I would not tell them until as late as possible. If anything goes wrong, it is much more difficult if you have discussed the pregnancy with them. Young children will often not notice you are pregnant even very late on. Children old enough to notice and ask earlier may well be old enough to gently explain that it isn't time to celebrate or plan just yet.

On the other hand, if you are a child yourself who has become pregnant, and you are unsure whether or how to break it to your parents, the answer is to tell them right away, the moment you think you might be. It has huge implications for them, but they have much more experience of life than you to draw upon and are likely to be more understanding and helpful than perhaps you fear.

Some people do right away - I did. But some wait til they're a little farther along, when the baby has more of a chance to survive to avoid having to tell the bad news - happened to my cousin. I told everyone the day I took the first test.

Depends on how close your are to your folks. On the morbid but realistic side, you may want to wait until your first trimester has ended. Most miscarriages happen within the first three months. From personal experience, it is much harder if you have told lots of people you are pregnant and then lose the child.

I told them right away. I was living in another country then with my husband and didn't have my support group nearby. I thought if I did lose the baby, at least they would know I was pregnant and could help me from afar.

My sil waited until she was 3ish months. Not sure why, but she just did.

Everyone is different.

well this depends on whether or not you are wanting to tell them. If telling them that you are pregnant is something that will make them upset then its a good idea to wait after your first trimester 12-13 weeks since this is when the chance of miscarriage isnt involved. However, if this is something that will make them happy, tell them now!

Up to you. If you are close and don't mind them knowing in the case you miscarry, then tell them right away. If you would want to deal with a miscarriage on your own, then wait til after 3 months.

tell them right away...they are going to find out sooner or later...in your question you dont say if you live at home or not and how old u r.... that would make our answers be directed to you more. In my opionion though i would tell them right away if your still young im suire they will be mad but they will get over it... they will b there to support you no matter what im sure. dont wait to long that might upset them more. good luck with the baby and tellin the parents:)
