I'm thinking of purchasing a black bomber jacket online..and i'm not to familiar with a bomber jacket. I DO NOT want it to make noise when i walk.( like a wind breaker) you know how a wind breaker makes that swish sound when you walk? thats something i do not want!

and also, are ALL bomber jackets fairly warm and are they made of the same material? ..i just don't understand why it's called a "bomber jacket"..i'm wondering if it's because of the material it's made out of, or the style. does that make any sense?

please leave me your feedback i'd appreciate it!

The term Bomber Jacket comes from World war 2...The crew of a Bomber wore short waisted jackets with a zipper..Hence, the term... Bomber Jacket.

They are warm. But, they stop at the waist. They look great with the Collar up. They make no sound that I am aware of. I have had a few Bomber Jackets over the years.

Bomber jackets are all leather jackets with front pockets and knitted cuffs and waistband and are fully lined. They do not make a noise when you walk because of the quality of leather used to make them. They, if anything, smell like leather seats in a new car. They are warm and are worn in winter months, or when it is cold or very chilly outside. They were worn by fighter pilots during World War I and II, Koren War and probably later than that, however, the jackets are now made of silk and lined with a quilted material, probably because they are more efficient and more comfortable.
