Need an antenna

Sounds like an internal oscillator circuit malfunction . A 39kc difference signal is necessary to get the FM carrier and intelligence back out of the frequency modulated signal. Either way, the radio is toast- toss it and put in a new unit.

If your getting noise in FM mode that kinda raises itself as you give the car gas, it may be as simple as getting non interference spark plug wires. This is a very common problem, and may remedy your non FM reception. This is one answer anyways, the antennae could be disconnected too, but very unlikely unless your radio was carelessly removed for some reason in the past.

check your antenna, check the antenna its self then pull out the head unit and check where the antenna connects to the head unit, sometimes it can get unplugged.
