I am thinking of going Wi-Fi at home, could anyone suggest me a router which is value for money. Basically good range and not to expensive. I have read enough to say that Netgears suck... What else?

i have a Linksys and it's been pretty good. I've lost connection a few times, but it's probably due to interference.

I have used Linksys, D-Link & Netgear.
All worked fine for me.
I have a home network with 9 desktops and 2 wireless laptops.
I also manage a corporate network with 250 desktops and 30 wireless laptops.

I personally prefer Asus WL54g Deluxe, but Linksys products are also nice. They are based on special Linux firmware, but still easy to use, and rock-stable.
Costs a bit more, but definitely worth the price.

As you stated your computer connects to the wifi router which way? cable or on the spot? if you're utilising the cable then you definately opt to purchase to make on the spot on your computer yet in case you do have on the spot on your computer you do not choose. the second one element is that if its no longer nicely matched WPA2 then you definately can replace the to WEP that is it. reliable luck
