Actually, I've found some liberals that do the same thing. Neither side seems to have a monopoly on kindness or reasonable people.
The difference that I DO notice is that liberals tend to take positions based on emotion while conservatives tend to take positions based on fact and reason. This is why liberals champion causes like global warming, minimum wage, anti-war, etc. while conservatives tend to support things like tax breaks for the economy and border security.
Put it this way:
A liberal would say "You big waster you! Don't you know that there are children starving in Africa because they don't have enough food?" to which a conservative would reply "Whether or not I eat this food won't feed a starving child in Africa either way.
And I have this conversation occasionally:
"Bush is stupid and an awful president. He should be impeached!"
"Really? Why's that?"
"Because he lied to the country in order to go to war!"
"Mhmmm... How do you know?"
"Everybody knows it!"
"But how do they know?"
"Uhhhh... because... um... he's in bed with big oil companies!"
"Really? How do you know that?"
And round and round the mulberry Bush we go, ever asking questions, never receiving an real answer. So don't try to tell me liberals are all reasonable. And don't try to tell me that conservatives are angry and hateful when there are liberals personally attacking the president every day, and people like Alec Bauldwin call Sean Hannity "you no-talent former construction worker hack."
If conservatives are angry than liberals are hateful elitists.

There are very few conservatives, many republicans. If you took notice of the President the week before the elections all you heard was, cut and run, raise your taxes, massive spending and things along those lines. When the head dog barks those things what do you expect to read on here from republicans? The republican party has swung way too far right and their intolerance has grown in proportion to the swing. I'm an Independent, but frankly, loathe the republicans. I think their party leadership is immoral. I ask mostly serious questions requiring thinking, and the questions are directed at the republicans. I get four, six, ten answers. A truly serious question, doesn't get many answers, if you are pointing out truth. Most people get tired of all the crap, so I guess we just chime in with our own at times.

Sorry, Patrick, but I respectfully disagree. As a conservative, I've realized the only freedom of speech that liberals support is speech promoting their own point of view. How do I arrive at this? Well, for starters, I'm a right-leaning libertarian working with a ton of liberals - some sane, some absolutely off their rockers. I have been called stupid, racist, a warmonger, and worse right here on YA by your fellow "enlightened" liberals. Take a look at how INVITED conservative speakers are treated at liberal colleges - so please spare me the self-righteousness. Neither side has a corner on the market of stupidity.
There are quite a few thoughtful conservatives on YA, but we're constantly besieged by insults and BS. I try very hard not to be hateful in my responses, but sometimes the "question" is so inflammatory, it's hard not to. I think my most common reply to the alarming number of EXTREMELY close-minded liberals on here is to point out that they aren't exactly a shining example of that oh-so-famous liberal tolerance.

Once again a fine example of a liberal generalizing when you say conservatives. There are those of us conservatives out here that are insightful and thoughtful also, just like there are liberals that are hateful and anger filled. I don't think it is fair for you to put everybody of one party into a single category, as is the same the other way around.

I think you're standing on your head and telling the world it's upside-down. Liberal responses and ideas are simply full of emotion. Conservatives are logical and have facts to back up their opinions.
Liberals want to save the lives of adults that have done horrible things, but not unborns who have done nothing wrong. Liberals won't allow the cutting down of trees in order to save thousands of acres of forest. Liberals insist that conservatives are racists, yet they force quotas that are racist against white males.
Which President has appointed the most minority people to his cabinet? The first "black" president, Clinton? No. It's the man you all hate - G. W. Bush.

I know. I'm not a liberal but I have noticed that when asked a question they respond with seriousness and facts. Instead, conservatives mention few facts and a barrage of insults. I've seen the users and their questions, most of the spiteful ones are conservatives. I think the thoughtful conservatives are outnumbered by the vocal right-wingers. You're going to get blasted by this question, be strong.

All of the thoughtful conservatives are hiding away for fear of being shoved out of the party by all of the other conservatives. They are a minority amongst all of the other angry ultra's, and are a dying breed, at that.
