Why the bad press? i love fruitcake

I love it too as long as it doesn't hate dates in it.I order mine from a place that makes them just the way I like them.
I like them a lot but I wont eat just any kind.

I gave my husband a Christmas card a few years back with fruitcake jokes in it that I thought were funny. He was insulted.

I never had it but when I was a lot younger I saw it in a magazine and just thought it looked like the most wonderful thing...I don't think I realized it was a cake however.

It's probably because people regift it so many times it gets stale and gross, and then people who might have liked it don't.
