What are the best boots for winter wear for outdoor work?

My husband is a mail carrier in Wisconsin. What are the most comfortable and best winter wear boots you can buy?

well since he is a mail carrier you'll want something light weight with a good grip, but warm. There are a couple different ways to go here. As one person said sorels they are good but i find them to be clunky but good in as said -45 degree weather. I would suggest a light weight material for warmth to be either gortex or thinsilate.

Now you need a good boot that fits and is good for walking Here I would recommend Magnums I have a pair that I have worn for three years and they are the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. They are good summer and winter boot as mine do not have any heavy duty lineing but i wear them anyway in the winter. They are the 8 inch lace up style and you can't go wrong with that in the snow. Good thing about Magnums is you can get them with gortex lining and quite affordable too.

Another good winter boot would be lace up ones made by Danner, get the insilated ones and your husband will be just fine. But make sure you try them on and walk in them in the mid afternoon because this is when your foot will be the biggest and this is when you want that boot to fit the best.

In closing look for insulated boots that are light weight, and most importantly COMFORTABLE.

Go get some Sorrels... They are good to -45 and have really good grips. They are kinda big and clunky, but not uncomfortable to wear.
