Roman Polanski fled the U.S. after having a sexual relationship with 13 yr. old and he is numerously awarded for his work. Isn't this the same thing O.J. Simpson was trying to do with his book?(which I don't support by the way).

I don't think it's the same at all. OJ was trying to make money by saying "If I had killed my ex and her waiter friend, this is what I would have done" Roman Polanski makes movies, most people aren't in it to win awards and the awards aren't given based on personal life. Sure, he's a digusting human being who molests little girls, but he makes good movies.
Lifetime achievement awards are clearly given for your body of work and nothing else. Look at Elia Kazan, who made some fantatsitic films, but basically ruined the careers of a number of people in Hollywood when he reported them to the House of UnAmerican Activities Committee. And he said he never regretted it.

Well, no, it's not the same.

If any of Roman Polanski's movies had been the story of his misdeeds, then it would be the same. If his movies were called, "You all know I did it, and here's how", then it would be the same.

I think O.J. Simpson would probably make a mint selling a book or a movie that's about something other than the crime in question. I would probably buy the book if he wrote one about his football career.

I have issues with the fact that Polanski just walked away from his sentencing, but I can't call these two issues the same.

OJ murdered two people. Polanksi had sex with a young girl, which I do not agree with, but it is not the same as murdering two people!
