Transformations? I guess I've been out of school a while. What are they?

To solve these, I would simply add 17 to both sides in the first problem, and 16 to both sides in the second problem, and then multiply the first problem by 6.

1 = C.
2 = C.

For the first question
x/6-17=5
add 17 to each side to get
x/6=22
then multiply each side by 6 to get
x=132

For the second question
27>n-16
add 16 to both sides to get
43>n
