it has been my lifetime ambition to become a Doctor but i fear my GCSE results may have ruined my chances. Can anyone give me a few tips? Also, what is the difference between medical schools and learning Medicine at university?

you could try foreign med schools, they are easier to get into. My friend was an average student, went to med school in the Phillipines and now he's a rich doctor.

depends what you mean avarage for GCSE, mostly C's or B's?
if you have good grades for chemistry, biology, and maths, you should be fine..i studied chem and bio for A-levels, ands its completly different different from GCSE. your A-level grades really matter, assuming you have January exams, the results will show how you are progressing. medicine is really intense at uni. jstt have faith, and make sure you write an outstanding personal statement now, so you can send it forsept, that way your chances are better. if not you can do Access to medicine for a year, and then apply for med school.

Get a masters in Anatomy, Physiology
Work as an OR Tech for a year
You can always go back and try again on GCSE
Go to another University, Italy, Mexico, Grenada

Well for a start you need three As levels to get into any medical school or University. These three subjects must include science subject.

I think that you actually are able to raise those grades, contat ur old school or collage and see If you can do so, I know in sweden you can!
