it was based on votes, i said this to another question about the D w S, and the underdog is usually favored. I mean Stacey Keibler was a better dancer than Jerry Rice but she was eliminated before and came in 3rd while he came in second. Besides the winner just gets a cheesy trophy anyhow! I think it is all in good fun.

He was a better dancer, but come on, I've seen clips of him as a little kid tap dancing so it's not like he was an amateur to begin with (Joey Lawrence too--NOT amateur!).
Emmit Smith = never danced before so that's why he won. Plus he was the sentimental fave.

Just because he's latino as you say, does not mean that he HAS dancing in his blood! Although, I found it hard to believe that he didn't win!!!!
