I think you might have to be able to explain your situation to an attorney first and seems you need to work on that.

If you can afford a lawyer to sue the landlord, couldn't you afford to move to another apartment complex?

You'll need to look at your lease or rental agreement to see what kind of maintenance and repairs the land lord is to cover. From there you should go to him and tell him what needs to be done as per your contract.

If that doesn't work, you can go to the police and try to file a negligence report. Some states allow for the prosecution of dead beat land lords.

You'll also want to take pictures of everything - your apartment and all of the railings and other things that need to be fixed or replaced.

Good luck!

first of all of course you can sue if these are preexisting conditions in most states however, there are atleast 2 problems 2 overcome 1 is going 2 b proving your claim actually happened;the falls; , or that the bugs or whatever isnt ur fault.2if and when u decide to file a claim u r landlord will possibly try and evict u.so my advice find a place b4 baby arrives.

The landlord has a duty of care to keep the property maintained. Call your local city housing department for advice on how to get an order served on him.

Look in your Yellow Pages for a Legal Aid group, and they should be able to either help you or refer you to a Renters' Rights group.

if you documented it all, video, written complaints, then sue. If not, you are owned.
