Security sometimes goes overboard.
We used to say when the adults are paranoid it is because they remember how bad they were as teens but choose to be in denial. What I mean is the most strict adults were probably the most promiscuous as teens and are afraid the new young ones will all make the same 'mistakes' they once made.
Too bad for them and for you and your classmates.
School dances should be fun and if a few people grope each other and it is consensual it should be not that big a deal unless they look like they "need to get a room" as the saying goes.

Don't worry my old school did the same thing, we had lots of adults running around telling us we were getting to close or we were not aloud to leave the building. I'm older know and realize, they are doing that for the security of you, if you went outside and disappeared from the dance, parents are going to start asking questions about where the child has gone. Your totally right on going over board for the whole dancing with a girl and them saying you were to close and getting almost getting kicked out. You should be able to dance with a girl long as you are not kissing them why should it matter.

thats way screwed up! I'm a freshman but this year I am going to cyberschool. Anywho at my old school they let us grind and everything. But if we went outside we had to pay to get back in. Stupid I know. But I knew people that before this rule they would go out and engage in sexual activity and then come back in. So I think thats why the stopped that. Yea and people use to go in corners and make-out but they put a stop to that. you can kiss not just make out for hours. And you can dirty dance still. I think that is really stupid...Start a petition. See how it goes. Go to to all grades that are involved in dances. thats wht we did when they told us that only 9-12 could go to homecoming even if a 9th grader took an 8th grader. That wasn't aloud. But we petitioned it. So try it and see how it goes.

Did you have to pay to go? because if so they are 99% wrong. i understand they want to keep yopu safe. but why would they host a dance if they didnt want you to have fun. i find if offencive to tell or be told what is right and wrong. if you are that old, you should know how to act. (and iam sure you do) adults being at the dance- yes, security gaurds for school at a soc. dance- NO. next time someone throw a party the same night, thats what we did last year for prom. everyone did go to Sr lead out, but didnt even go to the dance floor, they all went to a lake party.

That is harassment. I would feel creeped out if I was a young guy or girl knowing that adults and teachers were watching my every move and possible getting off on it.
