Looking for not too high-brow, but still clean and delicious. Must have an A rating & must serve beer. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have to be in Chinatown then I would recommend the Empress Pavilion. I've had dim sum there and it was good, the restaurant is clean (not sure if they're A rated) and the service was decent. I think they serve beer, too.

The best Chinese food is in the San Gabriel Valley. 888 Restaurant is a great seafood restaurant that comes to mind.
Here's the info:

888 Seafood Restaurant (626) 573-1888 8450 Valley Boulevard Ste 121, Rosemead, CA, 91770

I just went to Yang Chows that is at 819 N. Broadway. It is delish. They have great wontons. Not too pricey. They have a website at www.yangchow.com

If you want good Chinese, ditch China Town and go to Rosemead or Monterey Park area. Those are the best places to get good Chinese food. Din Tai Fung has the best dumplings by far.
