How has your relationship with your parents changed? What kind of relationship do you have with them now?

My relationship with my parents changed a lot when I turned 30. I guess because I see them aging and I'm much more aware of how fragile life can be. I've learned to value them and also to look after them. They live just 20 minutes from me, but I'm constantly calling them and making sure they have everything they need. Instead of asking from them (like I did in my 20's), I now give and give generously. I don't want my parents to ever lack.
Wisdom and maturity come with age and I've also learned that they have a lot of wisdom to share with me and my kids. And I make it a point that my kids honor and respect their grandparents. We're blessed to have them.

I have a great realtionship with my parents now. I didn't realize how important they were until I was about 25. I am now 36 years old. I think it takes a little time for us to realize how important they are. Before, I just thought they were trying to "run my life".

MY RELATIONSHIP WITH MY FOLKS WERE GREAT TILL ALMOST 5 YEARS AGO. MY MOM DIED AND THEN A YEAR AND A HALF LATER MY POP DIED....IT IS VERY TOUGH ON A PERSON WENT U LOSE THE ONES THAT MATTER THE MOST...THEN MY ONLY SON WAS KILLED 11 MONTHS LATER...THE HOLIDAYS KINDA SUCK...BUT I HAD A GOOD LIFE WITH MY FOLKS TIL THE END......

very close with my parents who rae divorced but are both in their 70s. there is a calmness in our lives as i am 49 and have a good thing going....not much parenting to do on their part anymore

They no longer think i'm 8 and they realize i CAN take care of myself... even though i've been doing that since i was 18... they finally realize.. hey .. i dont think we need to tell him what to do anymore.

It has changed for the better. When I was younger it was not that great but now that I am out on my own and have done well for myself it is great.
