Due tell about the last word"undervaluing".
As far as rule goes it does not appear so, just look and this section in answers there seemed to be a lot of PO people out there.
And the "code of ethics" not sure what this is but i believe that the real state market is full of unethical people. just look at the bubble they made.

Estate as in Real Estate or as in executors of wills? Real Estate Agents are VERY regulated by the State as well as the Ethics committees of their local and national boards of the National Association of Realtors.
Also, RESPA=Real Estate Settlement Act regulates settlement procedures and disclosure

Of course. Each state sets the rules and regulations surrounding real estate and mortgage activities. Certain laws are also Federally mandated.

Yes, they are covered by the usual consumer rights, etc.
If you want to be doubley sure, find one which is a member of a governing association. These ones will have to follow guidelines set out by the association which are more specific to the industry.

yes i think its called RESPA. not sure what it means but you can call your local board of realtors and they can advise you.
