I am looking at switching providers and wondered if sprint and nextel phones can use the walkie talkie feature to talk to one another. Say I have sprint can I use the push to talk to talk to my brother on a nextel phone?

geez will you all shutup? why would you answer a question with misleading information??? "oh wow, sprint nextel merged, so now they must be able to walkie talkie eachother." NO, not true.

the answer is no, sprint cannot walkie talkie nextel phones. they still use 2 different technologies.

however, if you get the phone the ic402 or the ic502, these phones uses sprints network when you call somebody, but NEXTELS network when you 2way somebody, so that is the closest thing you can do

Sprint and Nextel are one and the same now (Sprint bought Nextel)

Yeah there is no way for you to do that, you can get the new hybrid phone, but you would have to be in that market, there are 24 places where those phones will be sold right now, and with them you would have to change your plan too. But as of right now you cannot. Sorry.

yes, some phones have the push to talk feature.
sprintel is a terrible service provider with horrible restrictions and the customer support is the absolute pits.
