i know that nasa has a vessel using ion propulsion to move since ion propulsionis self sustaining, in space wouldnt it always pick up speed if left on? couldnt this end up being a time travelling vehicle?

tom 777 it is a proven fact that black holes consume light therefor are moving at greater speeds. Now ion propulsion may only effect the speed slightly but after time u would still be increasing speed

Not really, you can't surf aruond in time like that. You can slow time down for yourself on a vehicle traveling very fast (like 99.9% speed of light) but you can't just surf around.

I doubt that it would pick up speed. The amount of energy emitted is not that great, and great energy in not needed because they is no air resistance in speace. So, no it is not and could not be a time travel vehicle.

Beside, the theory of relativity created by Einstein states that there is a maximum speed that anything can travel and that is the speed of light. The theory of time travel involves going beyond the speed of light.

RESPONSE TO COMMENT
Check out the theory of relativity. The fact that black holes consume light is due to gravity and has nothing to do with the speed. The black holes are extremely dense matter and have an extremely strong gavitational field which attracts the light and bends it inward. You will find no scientist that will tell you that that the speed exceeds that of light in free space just because it is near a black hole.

Check it out or go onto the NASA website and ask them the same question and see what they say. BTW, I have a university degree in science.
