Well, if you're going for the Christian definition, then yes, both did commit adultery. Adultery in the Christian mind is sex outside of wedlock.

I don't think it is adulterous to have sex before marriage. However, when one is married, it is wrong to have an affair. If the "other woman/man" doesn't know, then she/he isn't doing anything wrong if she/he believes to be in a relationship with the married person.

I do have a problem with "easy sex" though...sex with random people or aquaintances. It's not a religious thing...it's a "who knows where thats been?" thing.

1. Yes, It takes two people to have sex usually, so it would take 2 for at least one to be an adulterer. At least one needs to be married. The other person can not be their spouse.
2. if you don't know your partner is married, then you are innocent of adultery(although some people argue this), but you are... a fornicator (sex without being married to your sex partner)
3. But if you find out your partner is married and do not stop having sex with them, then poof! you are now also an adulterer. So yes, contingent on what we know.
Morally speaking, if you are a Christian, sex before marriage is fornication (adultery is a form of fornication), all gettin the big no from the dude upstairs. So my best guess, it is just shades of guilt, but St. Peter still writes it down....

Adultery is when two people have relations when one or the other is married to another.

You did not know that the other was married, so I wouldn't say you committed Adultery but the person who is married committed the act of Adultery. But you did committ the act of 'Fornication' which is sex outside of marriage. So other way you committed something.

If you continue your relationship with this person, now that you know he/she is married, then you would most assuredly be committing Adultery.

I would not continue the relationship and end it, ASAP. You did not committ anything, since u did not know, but if you continue...you will be commiting Adultery, along with the married individual.

It takes two to commit adultery whether both parties know it or not.One may find out later, but it is still adultery. Not knowing does not excuse you from partial blame. If you continue the relationship, you are just as much at fault as the person that knew all along.

You are way too hung up on this. If I'm single sleeping with a married man, he's the one committing adultery, not me. Doesn't make it right, but it's not adultery.

One committed adultery, one caused adultery.

Adultery: voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and someone other than his or her lawful spouse.

In other words, the married person in committing adultery, not the man with whom she is having sex. The unmarried person is just fornicating.

Fornication: voluntary sexual intercourse between two unmarried persons or two persons not married to each other.

You found out one way or another, it is adultery no matter which way you look at it. You might not have been the one married, and not the one lying about being married, but you found out and now you know.

Whether it's adultery or not really doesn't matter- if you knew YOU weren't married to them, you committed fornication anyway. I don't think it really matters which sin it was.

Yes. Sex with a married person (not YOUR spouse) is adultry. Ignorance is not an excuse.
Yes. It takes 2.
If only one is married, one is adultry, the other is fornication.

Don't you just hate these "religious" terms. Make everything fun sound bad.
