My favorite thing to eat's actually more of a FEAST, that only occurs on Christmas Eve. For generations my family has celebrated the Feast of the Seven Fishes. It's a collection of 7 different seafood dishes in preparation of the birth of Jesus. Supposed to be a meatless meal as purification of the body. The 7 relates to the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church. Our traditional menu is as follows:
Stuffed Calimari in Tomato Sauce
Fried Smelt
Oyster Shooters
Deep Fried Breaded Oysters
Deep Fried Fish/Shrimp
Linquine with Clam Sauce
Marinated Eel
Baccala
Whiting
And to top it off we have tiramasu for dessert.
