Dont be his mom, meaning dont buy him clothes or anything his mom would buy him! Think about what he likes, does he like sports? buy him something of his favorite team, does he like art? buy him a painting..

Sexy is only good if the guy is your husband, partner or boyfriend. Sexy is not good if the guy is your son, brother, father, boss or male acquaintance.
Generally the best gifts for men are usually related to something they enjoy doing. If he's a sports fan, tickets to a game are always appreciated, or a good sports book ("Why my wife thinks I'm an idiot" by Mike Greenberg is funny.) Music is good and so is an IPod. If he likes to read, find out what his favorite reading is - for instance Science Fiction, Sports books, History books, Thrillers, etc. Then you can ask a question here in the Humanity/Books sectin for some recommendations. Funny gifts can also be good, if he has a sense of humor (choose something totally outrageous). Also, you might consider tickets to a concert, a Broadway musical (they travel a lot) a comedy show, a play, but unless you really know better I would avoid buying him tickets to Opera, Dance and Ballet (my husband loves opera).
If you get really stuck, a sweater, rain jacket, plush new bathrobe or leather jacket can be nice, though he'll probably get these from others. If your man plays golf, you might look into getting him a new putter or driver.
It's always tough with men. The gift my father (in his 70s) liked the best was a coffee bean grinder and a selection of gourmet coffees from Starbucks.

if u know him, try listening to when he says he needs something.. also, go shopping w/ him and observe what he looks at or says is nice, etc. ask questions, like what would u get for mutual friends, or is this cool? etc
something he needs would be nice.. check and see if his wallet is kinda old (or ugly!hahhaha), if he dresses kinda preppy or stylish, u could get him a cute shirt or tie if he is an office guy. a watch is nice if u know him fairly well.. can get a nice one for $100 or so. if u don't want to spend so much, u can try some dvd's that u like, or new ones coming out... books are nice (if he's a reader)... or video games. good luck!
btw.. guys usually like gadgets too. there's a cool swiss army knife that comes with a little memory card ... or my bf has a keychain that comes w/ a bottle opener and little knife thingy, very handy and stylish too!

Here's a tip: What he wants and What he needs are the two basic man questions. He wants some form of toy and he needs some form of tool or clothing. Find out those things about your guy, than your 1/2 way there. (Wants will score higher).

For my boyfriend I just looked around at what he needs, clothes! and then I looked at our apartment for stuff that it could use, and then there's things I know he likes....movies, computer junk, books etc.
maybe a new wallet? or watch? a ring? or try something more personal...a really cute but not girlie teddy bear with your perfume on it.
just remember guys aren't like girls....they wont buy stuff they need..for ex...boxers or socks...so maybe help out and get him some of those and then something personal

Just look and listen closely to what he likes to do....sometimes it would be nice to just listen to them about what they wanted when they were a kid and get them that. It would make him happy and feel special that u paid enough attention to that detail.
