In 2002, she was accused of insider trading and other crimes relating to statements that she made to investigators, and in 2004 she was convicted of a felony, sentenced to prison, fined, and barred from serving on a public company Board of Directors and from serving in certain executive capacities for five years.
Since her release from prison in March 2005, Stewart has been focused on reviving the fortunes of her businesses, which had suffered due to the very public accusations, her conviction and incarceration, and the extremely volatile price of her company's stock beginning with Stewart's legal troubles.

She was caught sending Rachel Ray death threats. One email read as follows: "If you don't stop being so lovable, giving away easy recipes, showing people how to cook fast and edible meals, selling more cookbooks than me, I will be sure that trying to make your cook your meals under 30-minutes or less will be the least of your worries. she is out now, yet before, as with most, if you commit a crime you go to jail - Martha Stewart commited a major crime. Lucky for her she has money and was able to be in a more social and protective environment so for her it may not have been as difficult an experience as with most who are not so fortunate.

Do you even watch the news? She's a free bird now. She was in prison for inside trading (I think that's what it's called) She got an inside hint!!!

She isn't. She was, for tax fraud I think, she was released a while ago.
