Hold on, Soonerhead, OU is not the most hated team in college football. That may have been true in the 80's and early 90's but not today. Why? They're not that good anymore. And to the extent that they ARE good, they're a legitimate team, not a bunch of overfed, over-indulged bad boys.
Who is the most hated college football team? The traditional powerhouse teams -- i.e., the traditional most hated teams -- have been struggling. Notre Dame has been struggling for years although you almost always can include them in the most hated list. Alabama? Florida State? Miami? They're pulling up the rear these days. Michigan is a perpetual also-ran under Lloyd Carr. The only traditional powers that are still up there are USC (who got theirs on Saturday) and OSU.
My personal list includes Nike U., er, Oregon which is usually way overrated. I'm pretty happy to see Miami taking a big dump these days. You could pretty much name the SEC powerhouses and they'll be somewhere on the list (except Tennessee). Texas and Mack Brown are a fixture on my list the past couple years -- I was awfully happy when reality finally hit them those last two games. I thought Washington was a bunch of blow hards until they, too, started hitting bottom.

Sure seems like OU does not have the respect that they deserve. I think it initially started when OU lost in the BIG 12 Championship to Kansas State. They dropped from #1 to #2 in the BCS so they got to play for the NC against LSU where they lost. Not many people were happy with that. It is very unfair for people to penalize OU in a Conference Title game when the PAC-10, Big 10 (11), and Big East, etc, doesnt have to play a title game. They also followed up that year with another NC appearance vs USC who clobbered them. the whole oregon debacle was ridiculous. no explanation there, although i feel someone in the replay booth (gordon reece) is now a very wealthy man. this year's team has become special since the loss to texas. Look for Adrian peterson to run for 300 yards (if he comes back, which i believe he will) against a weak boise state team in the fiesta bowl.

I guess you have never been to Okla. They are pretty popular there. It is the only football they have, college ball because they don't have a pro team. Personally I hate the Fighting Irish. They get a network slot every Saturday and I don't get to see as much of other teams as I would like.

Are you talking about the Ducks? I love the Oregon Ducks. I live in North Carolina, but I always pull for the Oregon Ducks and I don't really know why. They are just one of those teams that I pull for. GO DUCKS!!

There is no one hated team. If you go to every region of the country people hate different teams for different reasons.
