Why do you think that Mrs Webb?

Thing is, know one will ever know all there is to know....obviously. Psychology is an ongoing interpretation of actions and responses. Each person will have their own views, contradiction and ambiguity enriches the understanding.

Hard to answer your question in this small space but to be a psychologist you have to study for an undergraduate degree (3 yrs full-time) which is accredited by the BPS (in the UK) and then decide which area you would like to work in. Depending on the area, you would need to do at least another 2 years study at postgraduate level and possibly get some relevant work experience to become qualified in that area. The main areas are Clinical, Counselling, Forensic, Health, Occupational and Research and Teaching. A Clinical Psychologist (who has finished their studies) starts on a salary of around £25,000 and can eventually earn up to £80,000, possibly more if they set up their own practice. Hope that helps! I'm not sure what other information you are looking for.

The popular image of a psychologist is a person who treats mental illness in the same way a doctor treats physical illness, in its basic form this is true, but within this sphere there are sub-groups:

Psychiatry is the art of treating mental illness by medical means.

Psychoanalysis is a particular form of examination or diagnosis of an individuals mental state.(Based on theories advanced by Sigmund Freud).

Psychotherapy is the practice of treating mental illness by more or less any means.

Psychology is literally the study of the mind (or soul) but its area has broadened substantially over recent years.

It is important to realise that psychologists are first and foremost trained as scientists rather than medical experts and do not neccessarily take much interest in abnormalities of the brain and mental processes.

This is just a basic guide for you as to go into more detail would be too complicated and time consuming.

Then you need to go to university and study psychology. I don't think anyone can know everythingabout psychology but that would be the best place to start.

i dont believe there are any set frames for psychology.
If you're intelligent enough to be looking into it you've got it.
Everyone can do psychology, you just have to be open minded and be able to look at every aspect fo everything because to be quite honest us ordinary people could do a better job than half the psychologists/psychiatrists out there.
They rinse all our money to sit and listen to people tell them whats wrong so they can say it back to them with fancy words and seem like theyve solved the problem!
sorry for being so sinical!
