they like their middle name better.
i once dated a dude, i thought his name was alex forever. then i saw his name written H. Alexander C*******. I asked what the H stood for... it was "Harold." Oh, no wonder he was going by his middle name. He'd be the only 18 year old Harold in recent memory.
my bass player goes by his middle name because he doesn't think he "looks" like his first name, Doug.

My son has the same first name as his dad. I call him by his middle name. If I would''ve switched the 2 names then his initials would've been BM. I just couldn't do that to him. I worked in a daycare and BM is how they refered to poop diapers. It has been a pain though because he is called by his middle name but his insurance card, school records and other things use his first name. I don't think I would make that mistake again.
My dentist goes by his first 2 initials...JB
My grandfather hated his middle name so he always just used the initial in his name (Joe M) and would never tell anyone what it stood for. I KNOW though!

I dont know the other ppple's reasons, but in my case, it is bcoz i dont like it at all.
It was my mom's choice, but i dont agree with her.
Even, i dont use the initial either.
I use my middle name and my single last name. I dont use my husband's last name, in spite of i'm married from longggggggg time.
I bornt with a family name, and i'll keep it till i die.
Why to change the family name??I'm proud of it, and .........about the family name of my husband, i respect it so much, but could have been any........
I dont understand the women that after divorce, still use the ex last name.
I didnt give middle name to my sons either..I think that 1 is enough. The only condition is not repeat same name in the family

Some people don't like their first names, but since they didn't legally change it, they have to use it..or at least the initial... on legal documents.

Because we hate our first name!!!
My whole name used to be Shirley Renee Barrett, I HATE the name Shirley, I don't know why, I just do, (No offence to anyone named Shirley)
Now that I'm married, instead of dropping my last name, I dropped my first, it's Renee Barrett Morrow now.
