Thanks Quatril.

Whereabouts I live, there are some who prefer a hand skill, in fact I am sure, Many.
Therefore, to teach a manageable skill which is a value for life, without technology and having to have the understanding that is necessary, together with constant upgrading etc, and then to provide the know with the wherewithal, in a range of simple materials and basic equipment, which is replaceable from early profits, one can continue and so become self-sufficient. When one learns a hand skill, it is like swimming or bicycle riding, and one never forgets the art or craft or trade, but can carry it to further extensions of the product or service, according to the inclination of the individual. It becomes personal and raises esteem. Of course it also covers technology, but perhaps the focus on the former may be more permanent in the long run.?

You have the "edit" and "delete" options when answering on Yahoo! Some people should use it.

Teaching students a skill is always great, but instead of just teaching one student a skill, that $1000 could be used to buy a piece of equipment that could teach hundreds of students a skill - like a computer. Or a couple video cameras. Any numerous amount of objects could be purchased for that amount of money to teach more than one student.
