I mean, with all the violence, family upbringing history, parents divorced, drugs, aids, all the deseases, and how tough to even float above all that, it seems that our generation is growing sicker.
For example, with all the pressures of trying to make a wise decision in career choices, my own insecurities and the fear of the unknown after we graduate from college, my doctor want to treat my anxiety with anti-depressants! I'm not depressed...I'm worried about my future. People think of us as the worse generation ever! What do you think?

Yes it is VERY messed up, but its up to you to make your life that way. I believe that no matter where you come from, you can rise above it. In a way yes, you should worry about your future, but not too much. If your in college, then your planning it just fine. Just don't let your insecurities get the best of you, life's too short to stress about tomorrow

It doesn't look pretty, but it is not the end of the world either. Every generation thinks that the one coming after is completely out of control. Back in the day, my grandfather was considered quite the degenerate rebel because he listened to rock-n-roll, then came the hippies, and so on. That is not to say that the pressures of our generation aren't serious, but it is important to put things in perspective. Today, we are dealing with worldwide competition, but we also have the greatest access to information. Education is getting worse, but there are many more people who have access to higher education than ever before. It is true that we are growing unhealthier, but people don't die of malaria in this country any more. As for divorce, I am the child of divorced parents who really didn't get along. The last thing I would have wanted in this world is that they had stayed together.
About your anxiety, don't take the meds! The pressures in your life are real and you will have to learn how to handle them (just make sure to get professional help if you get seriously depressed). It sounds like you are in college. If so, just hang in there! I was very depresses through college and life was very difficult. Once you graduate, it won't be easy, but some of the pressures will let off a little. Just try not to isolate yourself. Talk to other students. They are probably going through the same thing you are, and that can be comforting.
Don't carry the weight of the whole generation on your shoulders. If you can carry your own, you are doing better than a lot of people. Take care of your health, and make some time for yourself once in a while. Drop me a line if you need to. Good luck!

Prove all those 'people' wrong. I've found that docs prescribe meds rather than attempt to actually help someone. And I'm not a young person. But I do feel that young people today are GIVEN too much, and not allowed to EARN anything, thus appreciation is not a commodity today.

How precisely do you describe "Western values?" If Western values = freedom of religion, freedom of speech, loose press, equivalent rights; then i'm in contact by Western values. Why are you able to no longer be a Westerner and a Muslim? Why am i able to no longer recognize the values set up with the aid of the american structure? seem on the situation of Muslims who you curiously declare to adhere to "Islamic" values - they're stuck contained in the darkish a at the same time as, at the same time as something of the international progresses. What are Western values to you?

yes, Satan sure has his hands on the younger crowd. Satan's time is short & he moves fast.
But, it's also great that more younger ppl are coming to Christ now. You could be living in the best times! B/c Christ return is near.
