I think your christmas tree should be a statement of you. almost as if it were art. your own canvas. their is no right or wrong. i have multi color lights, straands of those red christmas flowers(since red is mt favorite color) and silver star(represents the star of bethlehem) as well as silver and red balls and yes my children chose a few gold and silver reindeer and sleigh etc. but that is pretty much it for me. personally i prefer elegance but the kids prefer traditional! kids win since i do it for them anyway.
to me christmas is for celebrating christ birthday, i think it would be best spent glorify the name of the most high . praising him for coming to us so we might have a chance here on earth.

I didn't decorate it this year, my little sister did, well it's very sparkly and at the top there's an angel surrounded by lights, below the angel there's a big golden "Merry Christmas".
There's a lot of blue, red, and green ornaments, mini presents that hang on the tree, golden bells, stars, and the lights are rainbow colored.

I Bought a remote controlled pre-lit tree. You can go with all white lights or colored only or both. Only a few old time ornaments. The entire tree is covered with candy canes, chocolate coins, and small toys all over it. I started this a couple of years ago and the Grandchildren LOVE it!!

Whatever way the kids want to decorate it. We put the lights on and let them do the rest. They make a lot of decorations themselves. Merry Christmas to you.

I personally like to put all kinds of decorations on my tree so it looks like you have stuff that has been around for years and a Santa tree topper.

Pull all the old ornaments out that we've had forever like the ones we made in school etc.... put the lights and tinsel on the tree and then just grab handfuls of ornaments and throw... whatever catches stays on lol... there are so many... it actually turns out looking pretty good...

Turn out all the sparkly stuff from last year, all the coloured balls, fairies, reindeer, anything else you`ve got and tie them on the tree, trying to make it look as nice as possible. Then pile your presents round the bottom of the tree and its done! Takes two of you about an hour.

Colored lights, garland, and lots of random ornaments that I've had since I was a kid. Then a little tinsel to catch the light. ( I cannot STAND those "all blue and white" or "all silver and red" decorating schemes on trees - - they have no personality at all. )

Every year we have put one band of garland on it, two bands of lights assorted colors of red, clear, blue, green and we've loaded it with ornaments from many years before ones given to us ones us kids have made and the traditional colorfully designed glass balls. But this year I'm hoping to unload some of the old or really, horribly ugly, mouse eaten ones and I think It should look nice.
