Of course mention it to her. It will give her time to plan your move and it is the proper thing to do. As far as the payment due, I would prorate it as you are not staying for the full month. You did not mention if this is an agreeable move or if you are being forced out. Remember, if some of your stuff is still there after the 16th, I think she may want payment for those days also. Good luck.

technically you owe for 30 days after you said you would be moving. Prorate would only be fair if you told her on the 16th of nov that you would be leaving. But seriously, the difference is about $97. And it is christmas. And you want to still be friends. Or did you mean GF as in now Ex-gf? 30 days notice then prorate.

Pay the full month's rent. Give 30 days notice so the landlord can re-lease the place. Pay in full up to the end of that 30 days. That's fair.

Geez, everyone should be so lucky all they have to pay is $200 a month. She has been more then fair, give her the $200 and forget about it. She was doing you a favor, return it.

Unless you want to make an enemy, or come across as stingy, I'd pay the full amount rent for the month.

Come on. Prove that chivalry isn't dead.

I would just pay the whole month of rent, it's not worth it to loose a friend over a bad rent deal.

Pay the full month. sounds like she is helping you out... don't leave her short handed. 200 aint much for electric, heat, and a roof over your head... let alone her giving up living space to share it with you.
