John Lennon by far was a more accomplished singer/song writer then McCartney. His songs showed a depth and understanding that transcends time. McCartney plays to the masses to make money. John wrote from the heart. To this day my fave song is still Imagine by J. Lennon. Had Johns life not been ended he would have far surpassed McCartney.

John Lennon. His song-writing had a lot more depth and variety than Paul McCartney's. Paul does have a very nice voice, but I liked Lennon's voice, too.

John Lennon was the more radical, developed his music in different directions, didn´t take crap from anyone and made music with a nearly insane passion, reminds me of Mozart.
Paul McCartneys songs all sound the same, boring.

I'll go with Lennon tough both were gr8.. Lennon was a greater intellectual.. n hey.. u surely missed out the name of George Harrison.. he was the greatest Beatles who was over shadowed by john and Paul..

John Lennon was a terrible musician, mediocre writer and
all round self destructive individual. Many believe it was he who caused the death of early band member Stu Sutcliffe in Germany.
Paul however wrote Silly Love Songs.
