Interesting idea. What is your Goal, Gandhi went on Bharat Brhman to understand the problems of India as he was coming after long stay out side India. His goal was to understand the common man and common problems of India.

If you are born and brought up at a Metro like Bombay /Delhi then Yes really it may help to understand problem and issues of the rural people. It is very important to communicate with this people you can communicate only if you act like one of them. That is the reason Gandhi Traveled in Third class compartments.
You want to work like Gandhi in politics or not traveling always gives you best education.

Start from Kanyakumari along the western coast up to Gandhidham by train Change to another train going to Delhi,change over to Guwhati bound train,cover eastern states by road,come back to Guwhati,board train to Trivandrum,catch train for indore.I think this will complete the BRAMAN.

take a stick like mahatma gandhi had then do padayatra..that's the best i think..it'll n't cost u much also..u can read his biography also to get inspiration..
