because the baby was on her belly,such as the spine,etc. He did mention that the babies nuchal fold measured 6mm when it should hae been more like 4-5mm.This is a measurement on the back of the neck they do to predict the chances of down syndrome. I'm very worried. He said they will do another ultrasound in about 6 weeks.All other test have come out normal. I just hate this waiting, has any one else ever dealt with this.

I just wanted to add, so know one gets the wrong idea. I would love her to death no matter what. But I am a worrier and If she should have Down's syndrome I would want to be as prepared as possible.

Don't stress it. Its an ultrasound, there is alot left open to interpretation in ultrasounds. Sure its a great tool...but they can only see lighter and darker images, too me that leaves ALOT of room for error. Did they suggest an amnio? If not then I wouldn't worry too much.

Don't worry- What if your child does have downs? You will love her just the same anyways! If all other tests came back normal then you should be fine! Both of my pregnancies I had to go back several times because the baby was in weird positions. With my one Im carring now, They thought that he only had a three chamber heart. Come to find out all was well he was just in a bad position for the first look!!! Good luck and congrats!

Hmmm...I had my 20 week scan today and they are bringing me back in 4 weeks, and everything was fine!!! I would ask for a scam sooner than that. I wonder did you do a first trimester screening?? And if they think it could be downsydrome...why not a amnio?

I know your worried but to me thats just a little measurement the Drs had to see its just different from the norm I think your baby is fine. Dont worry your baby is just small..... GOD is with you .... and your baby !!!!

i would ask to have another scan sooner than 6 weeks they shouldnt treat this like it is nothing
