They will get the 4th or 5th seed in the playoffs, but not as far as the 2nd round. West is very tough, and Houston will have trouble beating Dallas, Phoenix or San Antonio.

I see huge potential on this Rockets team. The problem is, they're not consistent and Yao's not consistent. He needs to be the leader of this team (sorry Tmac), and a leader must act with consistency every night. One night Yao scores 30 and grabs 15 boards in 60% shooting, the next night he scores 18, grabs 6 boards in 40% shooting. C'mon big guy, play hard every dang night. And T-mac must take the load whenever Yao can't seem to shoot, I like that game against San Antonio where T-mac carried the team. These two players are the key to a Rockets' possible Finals berth.

They are one athletic & consistent power forward and a good pass first point guard away from a championship (Juwan Howard just doesn't have the athleticism and "Skip to my Lou" Rafer Alston should still be playing streetball). On a side note, did anybody actually like the Alston for James trade? Horrific. Novak in a year or two will provide the extra outside shooting that they need along with Battier, but is to rugged at this point. So for right now, I'd say 2nd round play-offs assuming no key injuries until they run into Dallas, Phoenix, or San Antonio. How cool would it be for a 1st rounder b/t T-Mac & Kobe? Probably won't happen, but still...

I expect that the Rockets will make the playoffs. Historically Macgrady has never wona playoff series. Well, this could be his year if they get homecourt advantage in the 1st round. Truthfully I don't think they can hang with Dallas, San Antonio, and Phoenix ina seven game series. They will get run out of the gym. So, I think the second round is all they will achieve.

I think its on Tracy's Shoulders
yoa is playing great

but if they really want to compete with the western powers tracy is gonna have to be spectacular he hasn't really looked good this season

They still have a lot of room to improve I think they need a legit PF (battie will play SF, and tracy ar SG) battie needs to improve his scoreing, and alson needs to show that he is a winner
if they do all that then they are Championship contenders
if not
they will barely make the playoffs (some were between 7 and 10)

I don't think they will make the playoffs, because Tracy Mcgrady never stay healthy and Yao Ming is an overrated player. He got blocked by Nate Robinson. I ask you how can a 7'6 man get blocked by a 5'8ft man.

Number 7 spot in the playoffs, first round loss.

First round, but it all depends on McGrady's health. Even when he was healthy they could never get past the first round, so you have to wonder.
