Obviously, you should never use a TV as a "babysitter" for your young child. But what if the TV is on a couple hours throughout the day, and your baby watches a little bit of it (like a half an hour or so). Can that cause ADD problems when they are older?

My daughter would never watch tv as a infant or toddler and she has ADHD. My little brother on the other hand stayed glued to the tv and is a very calm little boy. So in response to your question I think children are born with this condition and don't acquire it.

No ADD is not caused by watching TV, but too much TV watching will make it difficult for the teachers in school.

Edutainment is great, but how can a teacher with limited resources compete and try to keep a kids attention when they are used to goofy characters and wonderful zany things happening.

One of the reason Blue's Clues is a good tv show, is pleasant and entertaining but not necessarily overly stimulating.

My doctor told me that the brain waves of ADD patients have been researched and they are actually different from "normal" brain waves. Thus, I doubt if TV can "cause" ADD.
