The Democrats and Republicans are of the same mind; elected officials hardly represent people's interests; any type of extreme opinion, especially that of the "left", is marginalized; voting has became a farce with rigged elections and the rest; and civil liberties are chipped away at every corner.

You seriously feel that the far left is more marginalized than the far right? I see more people making fun of Christians these days than screwballs like Soros or Franken, so I disagree with that part of your statement. I also disagree with the rigged elections and haven't personally noticed any loss of civil liberties.

But your main premise - that both parties are very much alike and don't represent the people, I agree with. I get so sick of hearing people talk about the Democrats like they're going to save the world - didn't happen during the Clintion years, now did it? Both parties are corrupt as hell - I really don't think it's possible to rise to the level of national politics without being in someone's pocket - the money involved is just insane.

1) Please provide credible evidence for " rigged leections, I have yet to see any.
2) We are a Republic, with democratic principles.
3) Most of the United States Population is composed of Moderates therefore extreme opionions do not appeal to them, thankfully, not to mention extremism goes against democratic principles
4) What Civil Liberties are being taken away? exceprt from terrorists( non american citizens)
5) The Democrats and Republicans are just opposite ends of the Moderate spectrum, thank god, since 70% of Americans fall Somewhere in the middle and the rest just outside, Why in the hell would you want the an extreme left take over, that is called communism, that is not democracy, that is a DICTATORSHIP of the Prolatariet and only leads to the loss of freedoms.
6) The United States has more Civil Liberties than any other nation in the world, please do a study on it, I have been doing so for the past three months in my Poly Sci class.

We have never claimed to be a true democracy but rather a representative democratic republic. While I would agree that many politicians do not properly represent the people this is the people's fault. We generally tend to get the government we vote for and Republican and Democrat are not the only horses in the race to choose from. I have seen no credible evidence to support the idea that our elections are rigged. In fact these claims usually come from the disenchanted who lost the election and is a political ploy to attempt to marginalize the will of the majority because they don't like the outcome. Extreme left and right wing pundits marginalize themselves because their views are often unpalatable to the largest cross sections of society which are the moderates and rather than engage in honest debate they usually resort to the lowest forms of slander and character assassination to attempt to achieve their goals. I see no evidence that civil liberties are being lost, but we should always be on guard against this possibility because government rarely acts in the best interests of the citizens at large. Currently no one is harassing me, I am not being followed, my phones are not being bugged, I have not been jailed without cause and my freedoms and movements are not being restricted, so I would say your contention in this area is baseless without supporting evidence of your claims. The United States of America may not be perfect, but no form of government ever is. In my opinion, based on my experiences and travels, perfect or not, it beats the alternatives and I am indeed a proud American.

That should have been and I believe was figured out my our founding fathers. Democracy was the foundation but in actuality we are a Republic. I do agree with you that at least in my lifetime there has been little difference between the two parties. but there are safeguards and that my friend is you and me. The Constitution, Bill of Rights are in place. But let me ask you this. How many do you know that have never even read them. So like the founding fathers I do believe in We the People. Happy Holidays and a Peaceful New Year

All i can assert is that all of us would desire to vote, and previous to balloting we would desire to make each attempt to confirm which candidate maximum meets the characteristics of our ideal candidate. examine. Watch the debates. connect in discussions with acquaintances and relatives. verify balloting information of individuals of congress. Volunteer or make contributions to the marketing campaign of the guy you experience is maximum suitable quatified. e mail your congressmen or perhaps the Whitehouse including your comments. All of this is extra durable to do than only taking on the function of the passive observer, besides the fact that this is all any persons have. Be a accountable citizen. Vote your experience of right and incorrect.

You're are right, and in a way I think most American's do understand this but are discouraged to do anything about it.

60% of the American population doesn't vote, because they know what is going on.
