I do mean going back to it's old ways, not the borders. The spy poisioning smacks of the KGB's tactics. Let's see what kind of a parade they hold on May Day. Will it be like the old days, showing off their military hardware.

As I see it they are not reverting, but are growing. Like the communist dictators and the Czars before them, the current Government sees an opportunity to be a major player in the Eastern world. Also taking into account that most of the Men in charge now saw what the upper echelon of the U.S.S.R. had going for them, It would be easy to assume that they would try to grow their own power base.

It is proven that communism as the USSR used to do it , doesn't work anymore...but I think Russia is wondering if it's worth a try...As the world becomes smaller, we as a race may have to rule out our pity differences before it's too late.

Finally, someone who agrees with me!!!! Yes, it definitley is, and if not Communism it will be a dictatorship. Hopefully it will happen when Bush is out of office so we can have someone who will handle the situation like a professional.

If you mean go back to pre-1991 borders, impossible. But if you mean President Putin's authoritarian tendencies, then maybe yes.
