It was after the Great War and people wanted to feel "free." So basically, everyone started to let it all hang out by dancing, drinking, driving nice cars, etc. If you want an example of of the Roaring 20s, read F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel "The Great Gatsby." It's a great read and it's a great example of the 1920s.

the emergence of celibrities like F. Scott Fitzgerald, and the Rat pack. Hollywood was becoming powerful and the upperclass were making alots of money because they were not being held responible for the workers health benifits nor safety. So they had a lot of money to just blow on having fun

A few reasons, the economy was booming after World War 1 and lots of new inventions taking off, prohibition was in force along with bootleggers shooting it out, and music was changing with the development of jazz and blues. Plus radio changed how information was transmitted.
