It is definatly not wrong to ask your boyfreind for respect,and if he is not giving you the respect you deserve you are better off with out him,it seems to me that your boyfreind is taking advantage of you as he changes with you around his mates and is just playing a big man in front of them,if he loves you then he should give you the respect you deserve,you should'nt have to ask for it!

Of course not after all if he has chosen you to be his girlfriend shouldn't he expect his girl friend to be treated with some form of respect and dignity by his buddies too? If he doesnt show respect to you why should his friends bother to do so.Would he like his girlfriend to be laughed at and mocked etc? If so I think you should just leave him.

No. It's not wrong to ask to be treated with respect, sounds like he is immature. If he is very young and you like him then give him a chance ... boys take longer than girls to mature.

If someone is rude/disrespectful to you in front of others and only treats you properly in private they dont really respect you. Tell him to either sort it out or bog off! Why should you be belittled and humiliated just to amuse him and his friends??

He sounds very young and immature. I don't think he is ready for a steady relationship yet and if you can accept the relationship on that basis then stay, if not move on.

don't put up with him showing off to his friends if he cared about your feeling you would be more important that showing off to his friends
