make your mate a calendar.. you customize it.. you can make it as a funny joke kinda thing.. like that movie "zoolander" where he has the same pose but a different background color on each page.. it's cheap too!

My hubby bought me a picture album one year & he put pictures of us & our daughter in it. It was spiffy & brought tears to my eyes!! Try making your mate a scrapbook!!
