i was told it is idle air control motor,or vacume leak..when car is warm it runs like new.check engine light never comes on...when car is running i pulled harness wire off IAC motor and there is no change.i even tryed putting a plastic bag over K&N air filter to reduce incoming air,it lowered rpm to about 2000..when car was newer it started at about 1600-1800 rpm..car has high flow air intake and exhaust.fresh tune,timming belt.is there anything that i am missing?

Try the coolant temp. sensor. If defective, the computer might think it's cold and keep the rpms up to warm it up.

did this start after one of your air flow improvements ? the factory computer might not agree with what you have done and it's showing up during warm up, but yes check both of the aforementioned , hope you don't have to re-chip .
