Sure it's okay! As long as your baby's tummy agrees with it! I usually use the Enfalac A+, but I also use the Nestle or whatever if I have a coupon or something's on sale. I say try it out! Your baby will let you know if she doesn't like it.

It is safe for your baby to have watered down juice, although it's not recommended. Here's a passage from the Feeding and Nutrition Guide "Juice is not necessary for the nutrition of infants and toddlers. Water is preferable to juice. Too much juice can prevent babies from drinking the amount of breast milk or infant formula they need. If you introduce unsweetened fruit juice, serve it in a glass or a cup, not a bottle". I sometimes give my 8 1/2 month old daughter a little bit of watered down apple juice in a sippy cup. I usually do 30% juice to 70% water.

Yogurt can be offered generally any time after 8 months, however I started my daughter on yogurt at 6 months and she loves it!! You can get the Astro Bio Best yogurt which contains the Omega 3 fatty acids. Here's passage regarding the yogurt "Once all food groups are introduced, offer plain yogurt (>3.25% fat)"

They say not to introduce whole cow's milk before 12 months unless directed by your doctor. I have included a link to the Feeding and Nutrition Guide for you http://ca.geocities.com/__geri/FeedingAndNutritionGuide.xls

Most babies will drink different formulas with no trouble, but some do have a sensitivity to brands they aren't used to. 100% juice is fine to introduce when she begins drinking from a cup. You can mix it 1/2 water and 1/2 juice, but limit her intake to no more than 4 ounces per day. Don't put it in a bottle for her. Offer it at a snack time or breakfast. Many babies become "juice-aholics" and are attached to their sippy cups and juice all day long and become poor eaters. The general recommendation is to offer cow's milk products after 1 year old. However, after 6 months the reason isn't a risk of developing milk protein sensitivity as much as it is a risk of not getting enough iron. Breast milk and formula contain the iron a baby needs for growth and development that takes place before 1 year. Cow's milk does not contain adequate iron. A little plain whole-milk yogurt would be fine for your daughter as long as she is still drinking adequate amounts of formula throughout the day. Whole milk will not hurt her as well as long as it is a supplement to formula and not a replacement.

Ah maybe you can mix the two kinds of formula together for the first couple days so she kind of gets used to the new stuff (although I think Parents Choice and Similac are very similar any way)

She can have juice mixed 50/50 with water or just skip the juice altogether and give her water, it's better for her anyway.

Yogurt is fine to give her.

I used to give my son, starting at about 11mths, a few oz of whole milk a day (while he was still on formula) just so when he was a year, it wasn't an abrupt change from formula to milk.

Everything you mentioned here is safe to do with a 10 month old baby. I wouldn't start whole milk just yet but baby yogurt is fine. Try the brand called YoBaby with friut and cereal. My son really liked that. 100% juice is fine too. Juicy Juice has worked fine for my son as well. I breasfed my baby up until he stopped on his own at 7 months old. From there I tried a couple of different formulas for him until I learned what he liked and what gave him the least amount of gas.

You should be fine.

Good luck!

It's really OK to give different formula, as long as she tollerates it. No reason not to! As for whole milk...NO. Hold off. her digestive system can't handle it properly yet, and it can cause allergies and lactose intollerance later in life if you introduce milk too soon. juice is Ok, but only a couple of ounces mixed with water ONCE a day. When she turns one, go ahead and up it to 4 ounces a day. No more than that! It's too much sugar and empty calories. I don't dilute my kiddos juice any more b/c it helps keep her regular. the sugar pulls water into the bowels. But it's perfectly fine to dilute it, too. One more thing on the formula--check the expiration date! It should be on the can, or stamped somewhere. good luck!

Formula switching is okay as my kids never had a problem with different ones. Don't replace feed with whole milk yet - wait until after 12 months and instead of yoghourt try fromage frais.

Skip the juice and stick to water. She won't be missing what she's never had.

I think that it's perfectly fine to go from generic to named brand formula, I just would switch the specific type that your baby is on. Also I think that mixing juice is just fine and so is the milk and yogurt, just don't give it to her too much because she should stick with formula until 12 months. Good luck!!

It's best to hold off on the whole milk until 1 year. Same with other dairy and juice. You'll have to just test out the other formula - the biggest concern is will your daughter notice a difference in taste and not drink it. I wouldn't keep switching back and forth often - it'll just confuse her.

I have read that giving a baby whole milk before one year of age is not recommended because their digestive system will not be ready enough. Also giving whole milk early is more likely to make your baby become allergic to dairy. I dont know the answer to your other questions.
