When you choose file->print you should be presented with the print options dialog box where you normally select # of copies etc. Click on the tabs and one of them should give you the option to print in b&w. This should be a printer setting, not a Word setting. I would give you more details, but print options vary from printer to printer.

well if the documents has no colour it will print in black and white, but if it contains colours u can do file print, then options and there will be a box for black and white only.
